Ian Hickson Weekly QA Status
Week Ending 2001-04-06
Accomplishments for this week:
- Worked on some DOM test cases for the CSS2Properties interface
(tests currently only available on my website but
once they are stable I'll copy them to Bubblegum).
- While working on the DOM test cases I discovered some issues
in the DOM2 Style and CSS2 specifications and am working with the
working groups to resolve these issues. As part of this I sent a
proposal for the canonicalisation of CSS values.
- Also while working on the DOM test cases I found a huge memory
use case and discussed this with engineers. No bug yet.
- Tested the style system experimental build for regressions (it
felt slower but otherwise I didn't find anything). I also briefly
tested an experimental build for the XPConnect/DOM landing but
there were some blockers that prevented that from going very
far.
- Worked with layout people regarding possible changes to the
style system that could improve performance to ensure that new
designs avoided introducing regressions.
- Performed 74 bug modifications / comments / triage / etc.
- Continued prioritising the most important layout-orientated compliance bugs.

Goals for this week not met due to the plethora of events and problems listed above.
Goals for next week:
- Next week I will concentrate on creating more DOM2 testcases. Assuming I get no disagreement from the working group, I aim to complete the CSS2Properties sanity tests and work on some more reading access sanity tests.
Upcoming Time Off:
- The next CSS working group face-to-face is at the end of May.
